We’re proud to announce that our client Polymix, using 3A Block’s concrete block moulds, is playing a vital role in an incredible mission with the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute! Today, November 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Port of Varna, Research Vessel No. 421, St. Cyril and Methodius, is setting sail for its third polar expedition to Antarctica.
Polymix has loaded specially crafted interlocking concrete blocks onto the vessel. These blocks, made with a unique formula and additional reinforcement, will serve as foundational supports for a new generator room on Livingston Island. Once constructed, this generator room will provide power to the entire research base.
The installation of these concrete blocks will take place on the Antarctic coast, where they’ll face extreme temperatures—putting their durability and quality to the ultimate test. We extend our gratitude to the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute and to Polymix for the trust they have shown in using our moulds for this challenging and essential project.
We wish Captain Muevski and the entire crew fair winds, success with their mission, and a safe return to Varna in April 2025!
