Do you remember the special concrete blocks created for the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingston Island?
We’re proud to share that these blocks, produced by our client Polymix using 3A Block moulds, have reached their destination!
The research vessel “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” (Board Number 421), which departed from Varna on November 7th, successfully arrived on the Antarctic continent on December 30th, 2024.
The images we’ve received from the ship’s crew show the blocks being unloaded, ready to play a key role in the mission.
This is the third consecutive polar expedition, with a team of researchers and logistics experts dedicated to:
- Completing the new laboratory module.
- Advancing scientific research during this polar season.
- Ensuring food and energy supplies for the base’s operations.
The interlocking concrete blocks, produced using our moulds, will serve as foundation supports for the new generator facility, which will power the entire base on Livingston Island.
We are honored that our moulds were chosen by Polymix for this critical project and are grateful to the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute for their trust and partnership.
We wish the crew, led by Captain Muevski, great success in their mission, and a safe return to home in April!
